Produced by Wendy Barlow
Over six nights on the last two weekends in November the Barford Drama Group presented their 29th Music Hall and as usual it was a sellout.
Unlike the old Victorian idea, our Music Hall is more of a variety show with a mixture of songs, sketches, magic and production numbers that appeal to all. This year our Synchronized Swimmers seemed very popular and magic dog Douglas was very well received. We achieved a real mixture of eras with our ‘Les Miserables’ numbers alongside the more modern song selections from our younger members. The audience love it when things go wrong, enjoy a good heckle and appreciate that the jokes and sketches in the Music Hall knock everything and everyone.
The show was very well received with many cast and audience members saying it was the best yet. The truth is that a lot of fun is had in rehearsals and especially on the night with audience participation. Without question our backstage crew was brilliant and as ever the food had many accolades. What more can someone ask for… Food, Fun and frolics all at a ridiculously low cost!
Finally, we’d like to thank everyone who supported the Music Hall this year, raising over £5000 which is being donated to our local Salvation Army Homeless Projects and Barford Village Memorial Hall.
